Hello all,

I am new to this forum and looking to buy a GT very soon. Has anyone done a Stradale body conversion in the UK or know a good place to source the parts?

Hi mosa, and welcome. To be honest it's probably cheaper to buy a Stradale. The body parts are very expensive, whether it's for the GTS or the Strad. You might be worth looking at Novitec if it's some visual pimping you're after.

Thanks for the info, is the GTS just the 4.7 model? Does the 4.7 have visual differences to the 4.2?

Hi The GT is 4.2 and the GTS is 4.7. It comes with either the auto or MC Shift / flappy-paddled semi-automated / robotised, transaxle. The GTS has side skirts and a rear spoiler, plus I think the wheels may be bigger (20" compared to 19").

Someone with more facts will probably contribute some more to my brief synopsis.

It's been done a few times to my knowledge, mostly with OEM parts. Formula Dynamics also offer a complete kit for the GT/S. I have a couple of sets of genuine Stradale wheels available at a very attractive price - PM me if you're interested.

Thanks for the info, very useful from my research on this site the 4.7 is a no brainer really. Will look for a GTS once I sell my R8.

There is a red GT with Stradale conversion for sale at the moment.

The seller has changed the bonnet and the rear diffuser but not the front wings with the brake cooling vents so it's only a partial conversion unfortunately and not that successful in my opinion

I know a member was looking at a damaged Stradale that needed a new bumper and wings but he decided not to buy as the cost of the parts was just silly and wasn't worth doing. That was some time ago but I would imagine Maserati still would charge a small fortune for body parts......

Thats worth knowing, think im going to stick to a 4.7 mc shift in white, looks like a good combination to me.

did the GT ever undergo a facelift? If so what year was this and what were the differences?

A minor one in 2013 with a change to the front bumper / spoiler and the seats. The infotainment controls also gained a silver ring & the steering wheel is chunkier but I am not aware of any other changes unless someone can tell me otherwise?

I fully agree with that. White suits them well, with just the right amount of carbon to set things off. Good luck and let us know how you get on with the search.

I enquired about this when I had my GTS - I contacted Scuderia car parts in Egham - it can certainly be done but I was quoted £6k for the parts (without wheels) and then another £4k for fitting so it's easily a £10,000 project. If you really want to do it speak to Andy at Scuderia.

It's a lot of parts. Bonnet, wings, bumper on front, side skirts, rear spoiler, rear bumper and exhaust. Best get your calculator out...

Ah and wheels too...

Cosmetically that was about it. (I did find the seats in the Sport better for my frame). I believe the headlight units were tweaked too (LED DRLs etc).

Mechanically they got 20bhp extra and the sharper software on the auto box.
