Convertibles be they Spyders, GranCabs, AM or Bentley always hold their value a little better.

Porsche 996 and 997.1 have been dragged up by the bankers speculating on other Porsches and in the case of 996 they were slightly undervalued and there isn’t enough supply of good cars. 997.2 remain strong as they have the dfi engine.

I think Vantage’s have stayed level or risen slightly in the last couple of months but have definitely dropped from where they were a year ago.

Evoras seem to have risen. Bentleys have stayed level and Nissan GT-R and Audi R8 seem to have gone up slightly too.

SL55 have gone up too.

I reckon the 4.2 GranTurismo will end up at 4200 levels with the 4.7 and Strad being around current GS levels.

I guess we will have to wait and see what happens next year. The last financial crisis caused prices to rise as bankers started speculating on cars so Brexit may see the same happen again.

2007 2010 and 2013 saw massive price rises.
Ok that’s what I thought. Financial crisis was 2008 in my books and prices went down and stayed depressed most of 2009, till the bull market started all the way to 2018

The 4.2 GT will not drop quite as low as the 4200 (for a like for like condition/mileage vehicle). I can’t see a decent GT dropping lower than high teens - more towards mid twenties for better examples. And most buyers at that level won’t use them as a daily, so running costs are not that critical.
£25k-£30k spent on a GT is far safer than a similar sum on a time-bomb engined 997.1. As well as being more special, better sounding, etc.

Thing with the Vantage is that certain models are dropping quicker than other. Sportshift 4.7's are dropping under 40k and dome as low as 37k and early Sportshift 4.3's also seem unloved. You would be lucky to get a Sportshift roadster which most seem to be for under 40k a year ago now they are around 31/32k starting point. The N430 was the one N model than didn't seem to be holding like the N400/N430 but now they have started to rise with only one or two for sale at one time and add the carbon sports seats and they become more desirable. In fact early Vantage S models are starting get less than an N430. It's just a buyers market no matter what big engine sports car you are buying.

Had a bid on my GTS Auto recently when I was looking at a Rapide. The AM was not being reduced much and the bid on mine was very low. I would guess some specialists who own their used stock could go out of business in the next few months. It wpuld certainly make me cautious of giving my car to some firms on SOR in case they use my money as pre-receivership working capital or to fund directors’ dividend payments.

Not many V8's or the like have stayed the same or increased. Bid on a CLS55 this week... 7k with less than 100k miles. 8k will buy it but it isn't worth it. Same on an SL55...can buy it for 12k for less than 100k miles.

I see the GT dropping to a bit above 4200 pricing over time with GTS at GS levels and Strad comfortably above.

There are tons of Conti GT's at 20k and much less. You can buy a decent one for 15k! I'm just not brave enough.

Tons of big lumpy V8's for 5-25k. I think this is the main issue with values weakening as supply on the market is way outstripping demand.

Trying to ignore stuff like this for my sanity.

2006 BMW 6 SERIES E63 M6

I looked at those when I sold my Alpina. They’re cheap for a reason. Significant gearbox and engine issues.

Sportshifts just aren’t liked, we’ll see what the market does over the next couple of months. It’ll be that long before I can even consider selling mine for anything other than spares or repair, did have a play with the seats after I got the engine and box from the Mini apart.

Sportshift got better with each incarnation. The mark 3 system in The V12 S was much better and although the press love the manual in the V12 S lots of owners prefer the Sportshift 3 to the manual. You can get a lightweight flywheel and twin plate clutch for the original Sportshift and it transforms it. Think it's about £3800. The original Sportshift is on par with the Gransport shift I believe.
