Just took my GS out of hibernation for its first run of the year. Started first time, no issues or warning lights and was a pleasure to drive. As the OP stated, the car feels agile, free revving and light (and in my case loud!) Really enjoyed getting back in it and blowing out the cobwebs.

What mods have you done to make yours loud?

What mods have you done to make yours loud?

Commonly people change either the rear silencers, the middle section for a unresonated X or H pipe or the front cats. As most on the forum will testify you need to change two of the three to really free up some noise on a GS.

I started out with just an X pipe (I prefer the Ferrari style rasp to the H pipes more muscle car like tones) This did free up some noise and a few pops and snaps but the car was still too quiet for me. Subsequently fitted Supersprint secondary decats and the sound is much better. It also made the engine rev more freely and added a few horses to the stable I reckon! If you really want to go for properly loud doing these mods plus some changes to the internals of the standard rear silencers to make the sports side straight through is the way to go.

You can find a good comparison of the X pipe v H pipe sound here -

One here featuring BennyD and his crazy exhaust -

An X-pipe change alone will make only a small difference. As stated above, you really need to change the back boxes or front cats if you want more volume.

Just had a quick look, the Supersprint with cats are more expensive than the Larini.. Not sure I’m brave enough to go full cat delete.

Interesting - so you apply a coat of ceramic on top of the PPF?

Exactly that, yes. It protects the PPF and makes washing easier. All the stuff that's a sod to get off paint - bugs, bird suite, smashed bees, etc. - is just much easier to remove when there's a layer of ceramic / carbon ceramic over the PPF.

Them besties of yours are looking very lovely, John.

Thread revival....

I have just tipped over the 500 miles mark in the Gransport, and am more in love with the car . The driving experience is so much sportier, and 2nd and 3rd gear, above 5000 rpm, is such a fantastic place to be...

When I first did the swap, to be honest, I was a little bit underwhelmed by the experience of being in the car, and I was wondering if I had made a mistake. However, it’s definitely grown on me, and I’ve had several great drives that mean I now prefer it to the Granturismo.

I still need to sort out the exhaust (I have an H pipe sat in the garage waiting to be fitted), and once I get past LeMans I will look to get the car fully detailed, etc...

Good news, Jon. Great cars to enjoy. My Spyder came out of hibernation last month with a blast to Belgium and back.

I have Larini secondary cat delete and H. That makes her 110dB at the tailpipes when revved at standstill. Much louder under load!
My neighbours unknowingly appreciate those valved back boxes.
