Hi All

Had a strange fault with the parking car lights, they would not switch off -the parking lights came on overnight while on holiday and simply refused to switch off. Turns out there was some water inside the light switch body which can be taken apart with a very small X head screwdriver and careful depression with the plastic catches with a thin blade driver. Green corrosion products were present around the contacts which are at the bottom of the switch when in the dash (inside a white plastic contact holder). Cleaned them up, added some WD40 for good measure and reassembled. Just remember where the small springs are if you invert the body... so take apart carefully feeling where the spring tension is coming from Anyway problem went away but I have no idea where the water came from -except the car had been in for a service... Removing the entire switch body is not too hard, just reach up behind the dash and depress the metal spring catches with fingers and wiggle the switch body. If it happens away from tools, just disconnect the switch harness plug and reconnect if you have to drive at night.

Cheers
