Finally found the granturismo i wanted will put some photo's on soon ,had a really good drive back from south-sea to derby and what a fantastic car that returned 30.9 mpg and that was with some sport driving wow.
I have owned porsches but none of them thrill as much as this car but not for the speed because i know its not the fastest one but more for the presence of the masi and the looks i think win hands down.
I need to put a warranty on the car but not a dealer one because its out of there renewal period so have been looking at warrantywise and warranty direct could do with some feedback if anyone as used any of these or can recommend another one.

will update further when used the car more and some pics

Happy driving to all

Congratulations on the car, choose your warranty very carefully, many are not worth the paper they are written on.....

I have used Warranty Wise on a modified 997 Turbo which Porsche refused, luckily I had no claims to process, others have since said they try and wiggle out of paying for work, but no first hand experience.

Can you not pay to have your car checked and sorted then add on to Maserati warranty?

Maserati are quite adamant and strict regarding extended warranties , even if you were to pay the cost of the 127 point check (or there abouts) and it passes , its no gaurantee they will issue it , Warranty wise as said have been known to do the wriggling bit , just be totally aware what you are paying for and that the car meets their requirements , ie serviced on within time and at a recognised dealer ( worth paying good money for the warranty ONLY if it gives good guaranteed payout

regards loz

One thing to check with the warranty is the labour rate - any work done at a main dealer will be around 200 an hour (someone with more recent experience can correct that if wrong). Indies will be less, naturally. If the warranty doesn't strech to covering a competent mechanic the last thing you want is a non-Maserati literate guy trying to figure out how the **** your clutch goes back together.

I used Warranty Wise. My experience is that they were excellent in dealing with the two relatively minor issues that I claimed for. Indeed, both Maserati Indy garages that did the work on the car commented on how easy it was to deal with this company.

Hi Guys ,Thanks for all the replies yesterday took the car to Grey Pauls Nottingham forsome small electrical problems i new the car had when i brought it ,one was the seats not returning on access which was a reprogram and the other was the steering wheel tilt which they traced to a broken wire under the drivers seat .They also fitted new center caps to the wheels for me has these tend to have problems with the weather, and they did a full check of the car and gave it a clean bill of health so that was good.
I actually waited for the car took about 3 hours all in and i cannot fault the service which cost me 180.00 labour and 6.90 each cap ive paid more at ford so that was good,as for the warranty they will only renew if a existing one is in place or not run out more than 30 days but they actually sell the warranty wise one and the service guy did say they were ok ?
Any way still got time to think about it but love the car and i dont mined getting it wet , it looks the part finished in metalic black with 20" black wheels and nero leather with the red stitching which looks real good and complements the red calipers .
Mine is the 4.2 model and i know reviews say go for the 4.7 s but we all have a budget ' well most of us to stick to ,i am looking at getting a re-map done so would be good to hear from anyone who as done this .

Will put a photo up soon

Happy motoring to all

Hi melox2
Just going through the same process myself.
I checked out Warranty works and Warranty Direct. Great advice from Chris Stewart at Warranty Direct, he supplied a list of questions to ask any warranty company as some have major limitations:

Wear and tear exclusion.

Consequential loss exclusion.

Failures found at an MOT.

Overheating exclusion.

Betterment cost (once repair has been completed is your car now worth more).

Warranty direct have non of these exclusions and you can have the betterment clause removed for an additional fee (about £100). Naturally they are expensive though.

Warranty works had all these exclusions but were much cheaper.

Hope that helps...
