Chaps,
I thought this may be a likely location for recommendations on eateries in Florence.
I'm off there next week for 9 nights as a base for a bit of touring (via train).
Is there anywhere you can think of that is not covered by the tripadvisor?

If you get up to Modena i could dig out some names of a couple of fabulous restaurants , bit pricey tho but the food is 2nd to none , do the factory tours mazza and fezza whilst your there , and Bologna just 20 odd miles away , again great place for food and a superb opera house if your into that sort of thing
regards loz
I did the Ferrari one in June...it was an amazing experience....
You go through start to finish on the production line from engine assembly to final car assembly and then onto the test track and the Client racing cars..........It last for around 3 hours.........It isn't easy to get a tour. You need to go through a Ferrari dealer to set up...Or go direct to Ferrari Europe.....Think it's the same with Maserati...dealer is you first port of call I would say.......
More details here if interested...

Always remember, Florence is geared for tourists. I never got on with it, or Pisa, which isn't far away. Best food, is in the local towns and villages, especially the ones, up the Carrera Mountains. Watch them create the food infront of you!
Andy.
Yup....take great care when driving in or near it...restricted access...fines will follow you home!
