The Alfas I had never left me stranded.So the old " Alfa broken down on the side of the road in a heap of smoke" myth never applied.

Was more the electrical niggles and parts failures.

Both the models I had experienced problems. But I was in Alfas for a good number of years so I guess that says something about how they get under your skin.

had two alfas, a 155, and 166. they were/are reliable, BUT there will always be a niggle, a light, a knock, etc, if you buy one as a snotter and dont bother with niggles then it wont cost you much, but if you like your car to be 100% then they cost a fortune. the 155 i had a paid £300 for, changed the oil the filter, drove it sooo hard 2000miles , always hitting redline and one track day and no mechanical problems then when mot was up flogged it for £250

That's hit the nail on the head. You're fine if you are the type that can overlook certain things, and appreciate them for the 'fun' car they are
