Not wanting to be argumentative but is that not the correct term?
The United Kingdom is a unitary parliamentary democracy and constitutional monarchy. The United Kingdom consists of four countries: England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Not sure Great Britain has actually ever been a country but I am sure some scholar will advise correctly.
Exactly- neither UK or GB is complete or correct used in isolation ....The United Kingdom of Great Britain came into effect with the Acts of Union.
I seem to remember Ukraine wanted UK too
I think what happened was both UK and Ukraine wanted UK, so the authorities stepped in and said right, neither of you are having it, UK can have GB and Ukraine can have UKR. Which of course left Northern Ireland in the cold.Aren't Ukraine already UKR?
But whats NI got to do with it, there just a musicale satellite colony formed after a war!I think what happened was both UK and Ukraine wanted UK, so the authorities stepped in and said right, neither of you are having it, UK can have GB and Ukraine can have UKR. Which of course left Northern Ireland in the cold.
