Full Larini System on my GTS

Well, it's not quiet but it's a very nice loud rather than loud for the sake of loud if that makes sense.

At tickover, it has much more of a deep rumble which is very nice and a big improvement over the standard boxes, and does not get screamy until you hit the high revs. What has really struck me so far though is the improvement on the in-car sound when the car is NOT in sport mode which is how I would drive it on long journeys or when I have passengers who don't appreciate a din. Previously with the x-pipe and sports cats, when the sport mode was not on, you didn't get much of a noise at all from inside the car but now it is very pleasant and much improved. Of course with the sport mode on, all **** is let loose as you would expect and the symphony is incredible.

The boxes were fitted at Autoshield today and we did all laugh when we were sitting in Marios' shop, a good few hundred metres away from the workshop itself, and we suddenly heard over our chatter and the traffic noise, some crazy engine & exhaust racket which meant my car was ready to leave!

I don't have video or audio but hopefully those interested will get to hear it sometime soon.

Thanks for today Marios & Richard and good to meet you at last gents, a very pleasant way to spend a Monday morning.

I'm sorry, but posting audio & video files is beyond me but hopefully you'll get to hear the car for yourself sometime. In fact, if the wind is in the right direction ...

How does it compare to my H pipe Stu?

It's not as deep and rumbly as the H, it's more frenetic as it goes through the rev range. The pops & crackles however now are ridiculous and I don't know if it is psychological, but the throttle feels even more responsive and it picks up even better. But I guess it should do, Larini CLAIM the complete system should add around 50bhp. Whether that is true or not is debatable but anything close to that would surely be noticeable

I can vouch for it sounding awesome, sport mode is outrageous, only things I've head similar are MAF's and The Nantwich Foghorn's cars. Stuart bought the backboxes from me and we had them fitted for him at Autoshield, key thing with them is that it can be switched off when you don't want it...

Great to meet you too Stuart, top chap ;)

Brilliant move Stuart! One of the best sounding cars ever mated with an awesome exhaust package can only make for very desired GTS. I haven't heard it yet buy I request first dips when you think of selling it .

Please post some aural **** when you can. Thanks.

Phil you don't need to do anything more to your car. It is a delight to hear it standing and on the move!

If anyone was thinking about Larini boxes for their GTS but don't want to lose the original oval tip look, they do offer the chrome oval tip as an option which to me, looks much more authentic.
I have finally got round to taking a couple of pictures (plus an extra sneaky one of the front as I do still think it's a beautiful looking car!) Enjoy
