Fuel cover stuck shut

This just happened to me. Might not be same solution but thought I’d leave this comment here in case it saves anyone a LOT of trouble!

All I had to do was lock and unlock the car again (just normally with the remote key buttons) and it worked again!

Before you spend any time doing what I suggested, make sure the battery has a full charge. I've since noticed that several of the electronic devices need the full voltage to operate correctly.

Yes it could be related also. I did charge it recently but not had to fill up since, so maybe something goes out of synch within the brain since I last pressed the fuel ‘open’ button if the voltage had dropped too low? Locking the car after pressing the open button resets it?

Anyway, a nice man at the petrol station saved me by suggesting it! He said he’s seen it happen a lot in his 20 years working there.

Get a bit of lithium grease in there and move the flap to loosen it up Mine sometimes sticks. The solenoid is working but the spring gets sticky and won't pop the flap so when you let go of the button it just locks again. Had it on the strad and qp.

Yes if the flap doesn’t flip up then I suppose that’s just as bad. I suspect though that the release mechanism will be the same on all models and it’s a geared motor driven device rather than a standard solenoid and in my case, it was these gears for had gone tight. If you push ******* the plunger, you can actually feel and hear the gears spinning, so good squirt of wd40 and several pushes freed it up and it’s been fine ever since.
