Ok so it's not the same part number for the front and rear so don't think will fit..Does anyone know if i need to take the front bumper off to replace the parking sensor? It's the inside front rhs sensor that needs to be replaced

Thanks Phil.

I'm pretty sure the bumper stays on and you access the parking sensor either from underneath (which would be a bit of a pain as the under-tray would need to come off) or by removing the front wheel, taking out the wheel-arch liner and going in via the same route as if you were replacing the fog light. On balance I prefer the route in via the wheel arch. You may need a diagnostic machine to clear the error code afterwards - not sure. In any case I'm interested to know how you get on - those sensors are flimsy as h3ll, overpriced and expensive to have replaced.

Out of interest, what is the cost of a rear sensor? One of mine has fallen inside the bumper, leaving a hole where the sensor once was! Not sure if anyone nudged the sensor whilst parking but there is not sign of damage, just a hole that I now need to fix.

That's good. Where from? And did you fix it yourself?

Adam that's what i have paid for the rear sensor.Bought it from member Alex and it was coming from Latvia. When i got the car the parking wasn't working and because one of the rear sensor had the gasket missing i was assuming it's faulty and ordered a new one.In the end i was smart enough and decided to have it checked before i paint the sensor..and was coming up as front sensor fault!!Eurospares have them in stock at 91£

Good price. Eurospares would be plus any taxes as well, so £65 is an even better price. I must contact Alex to see if he has a roof button plate...

Sounds like a good price but slightly unsure about the fact it comes from Latvia! I believe the QP sensors were from an Alfa, has anyone found out where the GT ones are also used? Must be someone else that uses them.

Well this is what the advert says
''We have bought out a local Maserati Main Dealer in Latvia and are offing their parts stock at reduced prices. All prices are plus postage from Latvia.

Email: masergran@gmail.com or PM Alex_E on SportsMaserati.com''

I believe it's genuine by the way it looks.I will post some pics on Monday as i'm away over the weekend. I have emailed Alex regarding the sensor if i can send this one back and get a front one but no reply so far so i guess i'll need to buy a front one.If you need the rear one just let me know

Fiat group is pretty smart (or devious) with these. The sensor itself is widely used across various cars but the connections are unique. So don't waste time hunting for an alternative. Or so I've been told.

Sounds about right! Todea I will definitely need a rear sensor so if you can't swap let me know and I will take yours.

In addition, for anyone browsing this thread for info: note that the connections can also change within the same model e.g. the QP V pre-facelift and post-facelift have completely different connectors.

Eurospares lists a single part number for sensors which is shared across multiple models including Ferrari but at different prices. Hmm...

Another example of strange Maserati / Fiat group parts strategy relates to parts which really ought to fit but don't, such as the roof button panel in the GTS. Eurospares lists one part number across all GT models from launch to date. So when I needed a new one I naturally expected it to fit. With hindsight this was naive because some models have tyre pressure monitoring, and the buttons etc for that are in the same panel, so it *must* be different. Mine has a passenger airbag warning light in it which the replacement part didn't. So there are clearly at least three versions of ostensibly the same part. Needless to say the part I need is twice the price. Borrox.
