Total Bill £3157.91

**** me. Are you serious Phil? Was that recent?
If that happened to me I would push it off a cliff - and never look at
A supercar again.

How do you make sure the EPB is off? I have never had any problems touch wood
But would be good to limit them. I haven't driven mine forma few days now, although it is garaged.

Thank **** it was under warranty... You've done well to get all that sorted under warranty. Will be in top shape now. Was the clutch covered too?

or read your manual, lots of good stuff contained within those pages!

Maybe it's just me, but when I first buy a car I enjoy sitting in it with the manual and getting to know how everything works - just like when you first get to know a new friend who you hope you're going to be spending a long time with!

Well I don't sit in it normally, but I do agree. Sort of scary ;)

I did have a similar problem with leaving my Alfas for a while before using them. It seemed like the pads fused to the discs when parked and left.

I had the dealer look at it and they sorted it. I can't remember what the solution was though it was a while ago.

It's a question of perspective, buy an older car or keep a car a long time and these bills will happen on exotic cars but depreciation gets gentle on them in time and if you buy a nice car and keep it, say, six years you pay half the high dealer margin on these cars than changing every three years. Alternatively replace your car much more often and pay a lot more in depreciation. It gets you which ever way you do it!

Thats good news mate. So important to have dealer confidence...

TBF only heard good things about RG, Nuvola and ADG. Fills me with confidence if I purchase another Trident.

If only Richard's Black Strad was a 4 seat.

Just a little update on this. I had another go at getting it moving myself yesterday morning to no avail, so decided to use the recovery I get with the warranty. However, the subcontractor who got the job took one look at my drive on Google and said they couldn't do it. As I was parked front in, the couldn't pull the car off and their lifting vehicle wouldn't have room to work and/or would wreck my drive. The main recovery firm (Autogard) then called me to say that as the car wasn't accessible it fell in an exclusion to the policy and they couldn't help. I pointed out that being parked front in on a driveway is hardly an unusual position to leave a car and what was I actually paying for but they couldn't have been less interested.

Fortunately the dealer (DG) stepped in and after much effort on his part I spoke with someone else at Autogard who agreed to try some of their other subcontractors. One was found with a new piece of equipment that they thought could do it but I would have to wait until this morning. The guys from Hough Green Garage turned up with a little remote controlled contraption on tracks that looked like it should be defusing bombs. The gravel seemed to be a problem but they spent some time raking it out from under the car. I'm not sure what the machine was meant to do, possibly roll some plates under the rear wheels, but it gave the rears a good shove which unstuck the front brakes and, ultimately, the car was able to reverse off the drive under its own steam. The pads seemed not to have left any residue on the discs and a short test drive suggested all was well.

As a footnote, I had a pleasant chat with Marios at Autoshield this afternoon who suggested that it is not usual for the pads to stick so solidly to the discs after such a short period of time and thought that possibly the discs had been skimmed at some point in the past. His advice (and that of a number of others) seems to be use it more, however, it was never meant to be a short distance commuter car. One thing is for certain - I'll be parking it on the tarmac section of the drive in future!

Thanks to all that shared their thoughts.

Glad it's sorted and hope you manage to have some time enjoying the car.

I've just realised (I think) that you bought the car from Richard Grace that I saw on his website (in the Sold Gallery) and which convinced me to opt for my car as I wanted a Med Blue one.

Glad that it's OK for now. Tarmac certainly sounds like a sensible plan. I wonder if the fact that you had to reverse it out may have been an issue as well. Reverse on the 4200 was never all that (as we know from the delightful smell reversing up hill)

Well in the spirit of using it more it came to the office with me yesterday. It snowed in Liverpool only briefly but, of course, it was beginning to stick just in time for my journey home. I was a little tense on summer tyres...

No snow here yesterday but heavy sleet....was worried about using the GTS with summer tyres but all through icy and sleety conditions the Michelin PSS tyres have been fantastic.

I got stuck on my drive on PS2s in my 4200 years ago then I went to winters.

On the GTS I have found that the Continental SC3s offer so much more grip than P Zeros once it gets cold such that if I still lived in Berks then I might not bother with winters.
