Up early again this morning , did my usual whacked a few posts on here , then checked my emails , God some people , just completed a rather nice expensive kitchen for a client , its had my labour of love for a couple of weeks , the clients had decided to go on holliday whilst the work was being done , apparently they arrived home in the very early hours of this morning , Immediately at the top of the mail and first few lines i could sense the tone was one of dismay , in shock horror they have discovered all their stainless steel appliances are blue , and want them changed for the correct ones immediately , cant wait to make that phone call later this morning to tell them to remove the plastic protection film once the decorators have finished sploshing their paint about............ idiots think the guy is some kind of scientist would of thought he had a modicom of logic who in their right mnd ever had blue appliances durrrrrr

Hahahahahaha......As soon as you said blue I could see what was coming...Classic...have fun when youphone Loz...

Reminds me of the letters I get from the public when they are unhappy with our drivers...Had two now from angry motorists who have complained that my drivers are driving too slow on an A road....The traffic was building up behind them and this was putting motorists at risk as 40 mph was to slow and with n o overtaking opportunity this was just not on........I sent a very nice letter saying sorry you had this experience but can I just point out that I do not make the law and artics can not travel more than 40 mph on a single lane A road......One of them said they had sent a letter to the Police because of the way we where driving.......Wonder what letter the Police sent them.

It does make you smile doesn't it, some people have more money than brain cells, you wonder how they managed to get it.
I was project manager for an engineering services conrtactor on an exclusive appartment project in Islington years ago, just as the property market was booming and all the city folk were buying to let. I had a couple of guys commissioning the services in the appartments & we prepaired a booklet explaining how everything worked. however , this meant reading. which apparantly is too much for most of them so the guy doing the commissioning also became the meeter & greeter for these simple souls, explaining to them things like , this is your heating controler, thats what makes your hot water, this is a tap, water comes out of it.
one day he radio'd me and asked if I would come up a one of the appartments, he couldn't tell me why just asked me to come. when I got there he was with the new owner, a rather tall, elegant elderly lady dressed top to toe in black, she had a very irritated look on her face, and my guy wouldn't even look at me so I asked the question, whats up ?......her ladyship barked at me " do you know anythink about ovens"........well that took me by suprise........so I replied " about as much as you do about crank shafts" why do you ask ??.............she pointed into the oven and said........is this right?? I'm not sure.....it doen't look right , but I'm not sure..................well when I looked into the oven there was nothing in it, no shelves, not even any side brackets to support any shelves.
what made me laugh was that she didn't know, all she knew was that something didn't look right.
how can you reach the age of about 70 as a woman not knowing what the inside of an oven looks like. This woman was a partner in a city law firm.

That cheered me up no end!!

At least they had the sense to call in someone who knows what they are doing in the first place, unlike the guy doing his own loft extension who removed all the cross bracing from his roof to make some space and wondered why his house was condemned shortly afterwards!

I get this a lot as I submit planning applications for house extensions, lots of people earning big money who obviously have no common sense or intelligence. There is definitely no link between brains and the ability to earn large amounts of money.

It never ceases to amaze me the things that we take for granted with a good level of common sense - that, yep people with 'ologies' or money can't or don't (cant decide which) see...

very true Andrea, i remember someone not long ago won about 12 million on the lotto, they didn't have a clue what to do with the money, they were not moving house (they currently lived in a 3 bed semi) and he said he was buying the wife a Peugeot 207 cab and he was treating himself, he was having a 407, i was fuming, there are people who actually need money to help them out and they didn't have a clue what to do with it. Grrrrrrrrrr.

Understand your frustration Adam , but ,and a big but , perhaps they know the value of money and what it can do to people families and relationships, there was a documentary on tv about 2 years ago , about pools /lottery winners over the last 20 years , they surveyed and documented over 500 winners , hard to believe but 77% said they had wished they had never ever won the money in the first place , its had destroyed familes relationships, long term frienships , isolated people away from neighbours , caused mayhem with begging letters , and of course some had spent and wasted it or been foolish with it and were back to square one , some had even committed suicide not being able to face the shame

Its not all its cracked up to be , more important is to be happy and content , sounds stupid against a million pounds in the bank ,you would think it would make you happy , but for how long certainly one to ponder

i know that is the negative thing with winning a large sum, people can just walk away from you and you can lose good friends, one lad one a million at 17 a few years back, all his friends ignored him, he committed suicide at 18.

Yes saw that Loz.............Money makes the world go around but it doesn't always make a happy marriage....Think I would give it a go though.
