Hi, i m new here, hope we can exchange lots of informations concerning the repair of the 3200 gt. I have the check engine lamp, so I read out the the fault memory codes of my 3200 gt cause it loses power over 4000 rpm and got the code p0325/p0326 knock sensor bank 1..... so i don`t know exactly which one it is, the one under the starter or the one front under the water hose.... Thanks in advance, Best regards Chris

Hi Chris,

This forum is excellent for technical help.

I can't remember which is which but in any case, if you take off the plenum, the chances are that a water leak on the coolant manifold underneath it has caused your knock sensor failure. The work involved to get at it is not so hard as time consuming, so the common practice is to do both sensors and change the water hoses at the same time.

There's a good guide on how to get at them here:

Hope this helps,

Steve

Hi Steve thanks, i already found the one for bank 1... it`s the one in front, the inner cable was broken cause it`s so flexed originally.... I ll change all 2 sensors but it`s better to know the defect in order to change something and then it`s a centripetal cable.... i already changed the plugs, preassure regulator for the turbos and the pop off valves but then i better watched for the unidiag software ;-) Maserati Dealer is 100km away from me....

I would change them both, and if you search you will find other threads on this work, while you are in there consider - replacing short water hoses, replacing starter motor, replacing plenum securing bolts, check cover under plenum, for loose or missing screws. might want a little coper slip on the securing bolts as they are a ***** to get out if they seize.
