Filling QP DuoSelect hydraulic oil

Hello,

I'm also posting here to get faster reply. I have been having low transmission fluid level alarm and I would like to top up the hydraulic oil tank. I found instructions, apparently for 4200, for filling. So far I have been roaming around inside of my trunk and removed all the lining. I have been unable to remove the plastic spare tire well. Is it really necessary to remove the spare tire well or is there some easier access to the reservoir tank?

Hi Markus,
This is from a maserati workshop manual for a model year 2006 Quattroporte with duoselect.
I have not checked this myself as I entrust this to my specialist, so I am posting this information here in good faith,
I hope you understand that if you choose to follow this, you do so at your own risk.

1) Looks like there is very little room...

2) They show the next pic with the gearbox out of the car!

3) There is a special tool that has the min and max marks...

4) This next pic just shows how much (or little) fluid is originally in the tank

Hope this helps,
Regards,
Enzo.

Actually it is / was DIY job - you don't need to remove the gear box for this one.

Anyway, the root cause has been identified as some kind of oil leak in the clutch. Is there any known "weak spots" where to start looking for the leak? Any experiences in repairing cost?

I managed to drive approximately 40km before the "transmission fluid level low" alarm appeared again so I doubt I overfilled the tank.

I suggest parking the car on newspaper then opening and closing the driver side door many times to activate the pump. You should beable to see where the system is leaking from.
