just had this come on email:

On behalf of everyone at Ferrari North Europe, thank you for joining us at Ferrari Racing Days and for supporting this spectacular weekend – Silverstone was truly painted red with Ferraris.

The weekend was made even more memorable when, together, we set the new Guinness World Record for the ‘Largest Parade of Ferrari Cars’.

Having previously held the record in 2007, it was then lost to Japan in 2008 when a parade of 490 Ferraris was achieved at Suzuka International Racing Course. Ferrari North Europe together with the Ferrari Owners Club GB were determined to bring it back to the UK in style and set a new record that would stand the test of time.

With your passion and enthusiasm for the Ferrari brand, we have managed to beat the record which, as confirmed by Guinness World Records this morning, now stands at a staggering 964 cars, something for which we at Ferrari North Europe are extremely proud – this will take some beating!

Truly outstanding lets see the yanks have a go at that one lol

regards loz

They'd need a bigger track. I think I#m right in saying there was only 250 m of track left! Either that, or go 4 wide.

I think you are right Woody. With 250m of track left that's about enough room for around 40 more cars on the basis that you're supposed to leave 2 car lengths between you and the car in front (and squeeze in the safety car somewhere!).

So we got 964 on the track and adding around 40 more would have likely filled up the track. So 1000 cars really was a very optimistic target then .. and one that would have proved extremely tricky to achieve!

I was there too. It was a great event. wort the wait at the end of the day.

I can't see how they would really top that number. We couldn't have asked for better weather and we even had a few european cars. If the US manage it, then good luck, but 964 was impressive.

Good excercise owning an Italian car, well done Angelis, hope you got her home OK..!!

Turned out the alternator blew, so waited for the RAC who put in a new battery and followed us home. All 110 miles!!

The chap driving the 348 is actually the Presenter. I was elsewhere filming the event.
