I was driving at about 50-60 on the A419 between Swindon and Cirencester when a black BMW eased up alongside, and the guy wound down his passenger window and gave me a big smile and a thumbs up! I gave him a few revs to enjoy, and he dropped back and followed me at a respectful distance all the way to Ciren.

I couldn't really see if he was just a big fan of QPs, or somebody local I was supposed to know, or someone on here (I am VERY poor at recognising faces), so sorry if it was you!

Did his indicators work?

Years ago I was on a channel ferry (not in my GranTurismo) behind a guy with the same colour GranTurismo as me. Turned out he had bought it from the same salesman - those postcodes on number plates do help. Thing is he seemed to have little interest in the car, lots of people buy into ‘our’ brand for a while and don’t really connect and certainly would not be up to a chat other than being polite for a minute.

I often get people stopping and chatting if I'm washing the car. Always happy to make new friends and the most frequent question is " Does it do 185?" Answer: Yes it does. Life has been good to me!"

A queue meant I pulled up alongside an AA mechanic loading a motorbike onto a trailer yesterday with the beleaguered owner
"I love the sound of those cars" says one of them referring to the Spyder (roof down of course)
"Thank you" replies I - a comment that generates a chuckle from them both - "V8 surround sound" I add. Sadly, as I had vehicles behind, I couldn't wait a bit to give a little blast when the queue got moving.
