I have the water oil pump off the 4200 coupe and would prefer to put new gaskets on the exhaust . Who is the best source of things like that in the UK. Cost of postage to Australia on big things is a bit steep but small things should be OK. Regards Colin

Hi Colin, euro spares have a deal with FedEx (I think ) and there seems to be a minimum freight charge no matter how small the item. Makes it worth looking to Australian source. When my air cond compressor was changed my local guy sourced gaskets from Andrea Motori in Sydney. Try them.

Hi Phil, I had a small water leak from the O Ring on the horizontal joint on the pump so I thought why not pull the whole thing off and fix it. Not one of my best decisions but an interesting job all the same. Makes me appreciate working on all my other old stuff. At least while Im in there I can check the drive spline etc. Its a 2002 English delivery and has about 70.000 Kms so I suppose I had better get used to working on it.

My car failed terminally from the water pump leaking and rotting the splined shaft badly.
There's a thread on here Project 4200 I did it at home on my back a fiddly job.
Got all the parts from Dick Lovett's in Swindon.IMG_20140816_123418.jpg

Hi Phil, that sounds like something you'll never ever forget.
What were the symptoms that led to discovering this internal water pump issue?

Im lucky in having my own hoist but its still a job I wouldnt want to do every day. Ive already replaced the heater core so am slowly crossing the known problems off the list but Im sure the list will grow rather than shrink.

I bought the car off the forum expecting the engine to be goosed so had another engine lined up.
Decided to strip and inspect.
If your losing coolant and its not inside the car check the oil/water pump unit.
Its not a bad job once the car is on jack stands and the engine off its mounts.IMG_20140813_092931.jpg
