ok the joint between my all stainless back boxes and the stainless main exhaust are made from carbon steel. and they now look like this

So this is a big problem because the flanges on the back box side are welded into place and on the main exhaust side are behind the flared ends. So i needed a way to reassemble this that didn't involve replacing half the exhaust system preferably.

So I have successfully got all this back together now using these

It solves the problem and so far seems good
Not sure if my back boxes are different from others as i know there are many variants, but thought this might be useful to some one out there since none of our cars are getting any younger!!!

oh shiny stainless brackets! very nice job sir. My solution is a little agricultural but it is effective and will like the originals probably rust through in a few years. if I still had access to a milling machine i might have got brackets made, perhaps next time!
