Eats near Bicester

We have grandma & grandpa over to look after the little one next week, so I thought to treat his hard-working mum with a retail blow-out at Bicester Village...and his poor dad with a chance to show off his Maserati to her ; )

Any suggestions for great places to have lunch near Bicester itself or an early dinner on the way back to London?

Pretty local to me. I recommend:

1. The Nut Tree: http://www.nuttreeinn.co.uk/home.html in Murcott, about 15 minutes drive from Bicester Village and handy for M40 j9. Lovely old beamed pub, first rate Michelin-starred cooking, nice people. It's 15 mins on minor roads so Sat Nav best.

2. The Bell at Hampton Poyle: http://www.thebellathamptonpoyle.co.uk/. A blast down the A34 towards Oxford and off at the Kidlington turn. 10 minutes from B Village in non-rush hour traffic.

I've never been disappointed with either. Hope you enjoy the day!

The Thai restaurant inside the shopping village is very good. As you enter the shopping area from the main car park it's one of the first buildings on the right hand side.

Can highly recommend The Nut Tree Inn. Great food, good service and a lovely place.

Very good call, Norman. Many thanks.
