Aaargh. Sorted the throttle problem, for now.

And now the driver's window has decided to have a mind of its own. Drops all the way when you open the door, then doesn't return when you close it. Just sits there. Open. Gaping.

Is there are simple window reset like on all my Alfas? or have I got to take something apart again?

Window reset is basically lower window with the door closed but continue to press and hold the down button for 2 seconds once its at the bottom point. Then press the up button and continue to press and hold the up button for 2 seconds after it reaches the top point. Repeat the process one more time and that should reset the lowest and highest window positions.

What car is it ? If its a 4200 the actual window switch can cause random drops. I had a similar problem. Remove the module which contains the switches take the pcb off the back of it and clean contacts up with electrical contact cleaner and a soft lint free cloth. 10 years worth of gunk can build up on the switch contact points and trigger the window switch.

Easy diy job. Just take your time. From memory i think there are 4 or 6 screws that hold the pcb in place and a couple of push tabs.

I'd say this sounds like the micro switch for stopping the window a few centimeters from the top.
Costs around 8€ if you get such a switch from the electronic store.

Hi Chimaera500, for clarity I'm running a '99 3200, would this be the same / similar mechanism?
Yes, the same principal of operation for 3200 and 4200 as far as this switch is concerned, and Im pretty sure the same switch is used for both 3200 and 4200.

Here is an OEM one listed as suitable for both cars. I would put a better quality aftermarket one in and save the cash!. I can send you one if you like, just send me a PM with your address.
