Door sills

How are your Ghibli II door sills attached to the bottom of the door? Mine are done with blind rivets along the edge but I'm not sure that's the original way, and also it doesn't look too nice. Now that I have to remove them because of the welding work I would like to sort these out too.

They are scratched too, mostly on the left side because of the not properly aligned door hinges so I would like to refinish them. Are they anodised originally? Should I do the same or powder coat them? Which method is more scratch resistant?

I think riveting is the original factory way...

Somehow I had this feeling. I can image the conversation they had when coming up with it

Is this the black bit ?

Mine 1998 car but I assume made in 1996 had rivets at the top by the door seal and were glued with a black mastic type material. I put them back on with Tiger seal - quite pleased with myself until I had to remove them again. Tiger seal does not come undone.......

Meridian now only has only had one side left ! Ross said they use double sided tape and rivets.
