Some might say it's not the right thing to do, but others will and have done so in the past. Some of you might even be excited at the prospect. For me it's a money thing in all honesty. I am going to be de-modifying the 4200. This means I'll have the following for sale in a week or so:

Formula Dynamics Springs which I think have only done about 5k miles but will check

Formula Dynamics DBW Module

Gransport Sideskirts

Straight through exhaust with Larini Backboxes

Anyone who's after such mods, PM me and you can have first refusal, the car will also be for sale freshly serviced at Autoshield, it will still have a set of 19" Kahns on it, good tyres, the drilled disks and it also has every optional extra on it. Also, GS front bumper and rear spoiler. It will have standard exhaust system, springs and the original sideskirts on too.

We all have a fair idea on prices but I'll discuss these when I've taken them off, dependant on condition etc.

The car will be a steal too.

All in the name of funding my new purchase

I would say it is the best decision Dicky as you will probably make more money but also a lot of potential buyers will want a standard car.

Dicky, did the same, but only after listing my car as £6k modified, and not getting a single enquiry in 2 weeks. I then took it off, relisted it, dropped the price by a grand and someone phoned up the same day and bought it the next day, so definitely the way to go.

People buying these cars, especially those who dont know them, will shy away from modded cars.

All I will say is sometimes its more agro to remove the mods, so just leave them on the car but dont list them.

The exhaust is a no brainer, remove it and put the old one back on and sell the Larini for £1k and the straight through bits for £500

DBW, leave it in, you could cause problems removing it with the wiring, plus they are not worth that much used, mine did not sell so would think if you could get £300 you have done well.

Sideskirts, hum, tough one. If you remove, will you need paint. If not, then remove them and sell them on here, they will sell very well.

Springs, again if its agro and you have to have all the geometry done again, is it worth it, just dont advertise it in the advert.

All the best with the sale.

Good advice there matt, althoug if it was me selling it i would leave the GS bodykit on as it could sell quicker....the exhaust will def have to go, but the other mods leave them on, just dont advertise them on

Think I would leave the GS side skirts as it does make the car more desirable with the GS front bumper..The rest is well worth selling.

I have considered that but they're worth a grand and I'll be selling the car for a quick sale really cheap so I need to get the extra £1k from the sideskirts as I don't think I'll get it back if they're still on the car.

Good point dicky.....It the 4200 is cheap0 enough it should sell without the skirts....

Dicky, if they just unscrew or stick on, and you dont have to repaint the sills then do it IMHO, someone on here will bite your hand off.

Matt, they're just a few screws and I've got the old ones. Already had enquiries.

Oh, I see, you take one off and replace with another, I assumed that the sill was metal on the 4200 and the GS ones fixed to them, but sounds like there is a slim sill cover on the 4200 as standard.

Easy then, yeah, sell them you are correct, you wont get that money back via the sale.

The skirts on the 4200 just aren't as pronounced but there are still skirts there. They are currently taking up room in my garage.

And that wouldn't do Dicky as you have a very rare GS to put in the garage in a few weeks...

I'm going to have a lot more in there in the next few weeks, it'll be full of mods and spares that will all need listing, photographing, packaging etc. Hassle but think it's the best way to get my money quickly.
