Back to the top, sorry non-Aston fans!
Very excited as ordered my Brembo Gran Tursimo brakes for the car yesterday, 380mm discs and 6-piston calipers (in red naturally) front, keep my 4-pots (changed to red) on the rear, just a new lighter drilled disc. All ally-belled floating discs so much lighter than OEM with much more stopping power. Got them at a good price from the US, saved well over a grand from UK prices, perhaps more... Also having a DBS steering rack fitted to give me a faster turn in, will be very well matched to the suspension lowering and stiffening, track widening and fast road geo settings. This will be the only DB9 Volante that has had this done and brings it inline with the DBS Volante... which of course don't usually have the manual box, only even known of one, the press car. A properly unique Aston for a change, makes a change from the endless army of Grey paint/black leather standard cars out there!
Car should be handling beautifully for our Alps trip in a few weeks! Paul and Enzo you're more than welcome for a drive of it.
The aluminium dash stuff is still in progress, being fitted piece by piece. Yesterday got a featherlight aluminium ashtray lid fitted with 'Volante' script on it, little touches make it all very lovely. Gearknob is being dropped off on Monday. Interesting having every control made specifically for me, makes the car a very personal thing. Sorry Enzo, I won't be selling it anytime soon!
