Hi Guys

Well recently had a couple of TB Limp mode CEL's and thought strike whilst the iron is hot and get the Throttle Body changed to a Contactless version. Dont really want to be in Scotland for a long weekend drive and it packs in completely....

Cannot wait to get this fitted, I have had very few CEL's so fingers crossed this will help keep them at bay.

Will let you know how it goes..

cheers

Pinkies crossed for you, CEL's are also common from the Lambdas and the throttle pot. Get yourself one of these cheap code readers off ebay....if your car is a 2001 on OBD compliant interface.

Let us know how it feels.

How does it feel.....AMAZING...:happy2:

Car now idles much better, with no hunting at all.

The biggest difference is in the throttle response when pulling off from a stand still. My car being a manual, it always felt a bit lurchy on take off. You had to marry the throttle to the clutch bite exactly or it always felt a bit jerky. The same through slow traffic where it felt sort of a bit on and off the throttle and a tad jerky. I got used to this, but a friend drove my car and was all over the place with it.

That has completely gone now. Pick up is VERY smooth. It feels so good now I reckon my granny could drive it....
Throttle feels crisper across the whole rev range....

All in all with the 60 miles drive home all I can say is I am very pleased. Lets just hope those pesky CEL's (which touch wood I have not had too many of) are history.

Highly recommend getting this done if you havent already.

Thanks to the guys at Autoshield again for fitting it so quickly and for a nice cuppa whilst waiting....

Cheers

Lee

ps yes my car is a 2001 onwards and I have a code reader in the glove box from E Bay which was helpfull in flagging up the TB in the first place before hooking it up to an Maserati code reader.
