Hey everyone,
Delighted to have joined the SportsMaserati group and thanks to Gazcw for reaching out with an early warm welcome. :) Recently bought a late 2007 QPV Sport GT in grigio granito (pics attached) and enjoying every minute so far. Not without a few gremlins, of course, including a front passenger door window regulator issue and a very lazy bonnet catch, which makes opening the hood extremely difficult. Would be grateful for any advice on servicing in the North Herts area. Had thought I would take it to McGrath Maserati, but alas the QP is too young!!

Hello Burf and welcome.
What a beautiful car you have. How did you come by it?
Well done joining the forum. There are many folk here with detailed technical knowledge of these cars, always willing to help with advice and guidance when gremlins strike, as they do from time to time and everybody here loves these cars. Your post reads as if you already know why.
Do keep an eye out for meetings and outings - we have another couple of months of good weather ahead of us.
Someone who lives nearer to you than I do will be along shortly to advise on servicing in North Herts.
I too have a QPV, of similar vintage to yours. Loving it ! You have a great time to look forward to :)

Ciao Burf.
Those aren't gremlins. Those are charming character aspects.

This. Would be gremlins. And not even the worst kind of.
So, welcome to the suck. So long as you have pockets deeper
than an Arab oil well, you'll be fine. You'll sleep well at night
and your wife won't divorce you.
Like John Wanamaker's quote. "Half of my ad budget is wasted.
I just don't know which half."

Only half of what I said above is true. Guess which half?
Correct. It really doesn't matter

Welcome and what a splendid car you have.

Try Sports Italia for services and make sure that sub frame is treated if not already.

Thanks Alan, I found my car languishing in Peterborough and took a punt on it. Very glad I did. It's great to meet other QP fans like yourself on this forum. I'm always up for meetings, outings and advice - so I'll look forward to meeting up when the opportunity arises.

Well, having owned a fifth-hand Range Rover and a Citroen C6 previously I should be used to the threat of fire, bankruptcy and divorce!

Lovely car there.
Barr-Tech in Cambridge do work on Maseratis, not used them myself but some on here have. I try and do the basic stuff like oil changes myself on my 2003 Maserati which is quite easy apart from access to the oil filter.
Hopefully going to Knebworth car show on Sunday or Monday this coming weekend if the weather stays dry.

McGraths looked after my QP V 2009 for many years........have you tried them? You may have to book well in advance...

Hi! I’m in Enfield Chase if you ever want to meet up for a drink
Great car……Sports Italia in Southampton are worth the drive for as it’s owned by a Maserati forum owner! If not then I know an Alfa indie I use for mine I noticed had QPs in last time based in Aylesbury

Welcome! Lovely QP. We’re in Herts and combine the trip to sportsItalia in Southampton with a beach trip but we are in the opposite corner to you so slightly better placed.

Warm welcome and congratulations on your car. I also have the 2007 Sport GT… it’s the auto version. Been through and dealt a lot of questions and challenges that may arise, so happy to share experiences.

As others have said, this is a very helpful and knowledgeable forum.

Welcome to the exclusive Maserati owning rabble! I’m sure you’ll find it useful, funny and at time frustrating.

I have the same problem with the bonnet catch, it lies very low so I struggle to get my fingers under it to lift it, and I’ve got large hands..I can only wonder how small Italian hand manage to reach it…

Well done taking a punt on such a beautiful car, but you would be well advised to get it to a garage with recognised expertise in Maseratis for a thorough inspection. There could be lurking gremlins and they're best dealt with quickly.
Your fellow forum members living nearish you have certainly been naming some good garages for you.
For what its worth, I generally take the 1 1/2 hour journey to SportsItalia, near Southampton.
