Cheshire meet?

Well folks, if those down Sarf can raise enough folk to have a bit of a local do, what about us in Cheshire (and Lancashire and North Staffs)?
I`ve exchanged emails with Benny, and we were wondering if there are enough of us within a reasonable radius of Cheshire to have an occasional meet, run, trip, etc. If we could tear some folk away from building orangeries, there would be a small handful of us - anyone else interested - and if so, any suggestions?
Cheers
Terry

Yep Terry, you need to include us in South Staffs, Shrops, and the West Midlands.

I'm sure we could rival that rowdy lot down sarf with a bit of culture!

Is that me building orangeries, I'm just digging holes , I'd like to come but I'd need a bigger boot if I'm going to have to match your picnic kit so it may have to be when I find a QP

How about using the whipping stocks inn at peover as the meet point. Food is good some fun twisty stuff in the area and in striking distance of the m6 m56 and m60.

The other one is the fox and hound off junction 18 of the m6. Food is very good. Both places have decent sized car parks and beer gardens for the summer evenings.

Nice run out to get there. Enough to get the engine up to temp and the tyres and brakes warm ;)

My friend owns the Sun Trevor near Llangollen, he has a seperate parking area we could have for Masser only and good honest pub food followed by a blast over the Horshoe Pass and you are also on the doorstep of the Evo Triangle loop ;-)

Just a thought anyway

May well put in an appearance depending on where the meet is. Been to Oulton a few times and Cholmondeley yesterday so not unknown territory.

Yes they do appear quite friendly.
...a little noisy it has to be said at times though.

I'd be definitely up for that, plenty of good roads around Cheshire/North Wales, Richard's gaff would be good if he's amenable, could go out over Llangegla's, horse shoe etc.

Well, from initial response it would certainly seem we could get a good quality gathering. Three questions, I suppose - what sort of "thing", where, and when?

Based on replies so far, how`s this for an Aunt Sally?

Meet initially near the M6 (Fox and Hounds suggested), pick up others at convenient spots along the way, coffee somewhere, and trundle to Lee`s suggested hostelry in Llangollen for a pub lunch. The great thing about Llangollen is that there are lots of interesting places there - so possibly the motor museum (small but interesting), or the steam railway, or Plas Newydd (not the Anglesey one), or a canal trip??????????????????? Meet up for afternoon tea afterwards, and then a scenic route back.

That really is only a shot in the dark, so feel free to pick holes, kick me gently in the nether regions, etc.

...................and when? Again, only a suggestion but is there anything else on Sunday 9th October?

Cheers, folks

Terry

PS Darren, what`s the difference between an orangery and a conservatory?

Conservatory has a glass roof, orangerie has a tile roof and is much posher , that must be the reason it's more money

Well, folks, it was only a rough suggestion, so if you have any thoughts on places, routes, dates, etc, please do say, but so far we would seem to have;

1. Terry
2. Darren
3. MrMickS
4. Ianed0
5. Mike of the MJHeathcote variety
6. Doohickey possibly
7. LeeH as he`s suggested the lunch venue!
8. Jkulin possibly
9. spkennyuk possibly

Any more for anymore? Come on Northern gents!
