No news on my Levante delivery yet. I've been told there is a 3 week delay but hopefully will come in before end of year. I don't think any have landed in the UK yet.

I also think some cars are ugly, and I'm entitled to my opinion. I just don't feel the need to share it when it's highly likely to cause others offence. And on a Maserati forum why insult other people's Maseratis? If you haven't got anything valuable and/or constructive to say, why say anything?

Personally I agree with this, I would never dream of being negative about another persons car, let alone another Maserati but I also understand people are allowed their opinion.

I was more taken aback when I put up on this forum that I was selling Centennial Strad and what the dealer had priced up for and immediately I had a couple of people tell me it was overpriced, won't sell quickly etc, that was disappointing, but again it was personal opinion ( it sold in 24 hours )

I think the Levante will save the brand in terms of sales and then hopefully they will finally, fingers crossed, God willing, finger in the air.....release the Alfieri

Think long and hard about taking it off road mate and you Mike as Maserati probably don't intend it to be used as an all purpose vehicle so it will void your warranty :D

Off road will include parking on a grass kerb or your driveway if it means they can reject a warranty claim.

Afternoon all, potential first time Maserati buyer here. coming out of a '63 reg/2014 RR sport, tempted by the Levante. The RR has been good but they are everywhere now and someone down my local pub wants one 'just like mine' for his Essex tart, told me that it's time to move on....

Any must haves in the spec list? I'm always cautious about loading cars up with options that are worth nothing come resale (and three years passes like a flash when you are my age), so let's set an upper limit of £65k. All advice appreciated, i drove one yesterday and it's a nice drive, albeit a lot of metal to haul around with 270ps.

Thanks

Welcome Rob.....You may have to tell us what options are best as a new car not seen or driven by many on here you are one of the first to drive one and spec one probably. Have fun picking your perfect car.

I loaded one up and could only get to just over £67k with everything I could think of putting on that I wanted. I guess I could have uprated the sound system as well, but the standard one in the Ghibli is ok, given that I spend most of the time listening to the engine :)

The things I put on were 21" wheels, the Zenga luxury package, the cold weather package (I like my heated seats), and the steering wheel shift paddles.

I say that the wheel upgrade and the paddles are definite.

While you do need to add some stuff (I agree that heated seats and bigger wheels are a must), you needn't go crazy and a nice one comes in at under £60k.

With the Rangie and new Discovery, even the base spec (HSE) has virtually everything you might realistically need. I ordered a new Rangie last December and the only thing I needed to add was a heated steering wheel. And my business partner has just ordered a new Disco (which comes out in the New Year) and all he added was a heated steering wheel and a spare set of rubber floor mats and boot liner (for muddy days). That said, the base models of both these cars are more expensive than the base Maser, so maybe that explains the higher spec of the LR stuff.

I was looking at getting a new Disco to replace mine but I am waiting for the new JLR in house 6 cylinder engines. I did notice for my HSE spec they had deleted an opening sunroof and metallic as standard but it could have been worse. Personally I would never consider a Levante to replace my Disco but neither would I look at an X5 etc. Different markets.

A sunroof - in Scotland! Is that wise?!;)

Not the last few days!

Funnily enough when I was living in London I made fun of a friend in Scotland with an XKR Convertible and what was the first thing I did when I moved back up here....got an SL. Had heated seats mind.........

I've gone for,

Sport Spec
Heated seats
Extended leather
Black stitching
Gangster Windows
Harmon Karmon
And heated steering wheel which I was doubting until 2 weeks ago when the Baltic mornings started, now I can't wait.

I found the " option packs " quite good for the Sport and Lux

It's due late this month/ early Dec, ordered it in July. Not holding my breath though....
