At last, main dealers selling GTS sub £60k, meaning that it could be had for circa £57k. I have put in an offer on a car today at around this price, a bit less if I am honest, but can now see that the GTS will be achievable at xmas for £50k as the depreciation is in excess of £1k a month at present.

Fair enough, I was just going on what Palmball told me on his purchase, your estimation seems more realistic.

Bob, how do they depreciate at £7k per annum if a 3yr old 08 car is circa £45k and was £85k new, that's nearer £13k pa. Do you mean from now onwards? In which case, a 5yr old GT would be great value at £30k in 2 years time.

They drop c£7k trade to trade PA at 3+ years old. Obviously they drop more from new but much of that is VAT and dealer margin.

£60k retail is the right asking price for a 3 year old GTS with normal miles at a main dealer but I would still ask for £4k off - market is dire.

depreciation of £1k a month is great when you are looking for a car but not once you have brought it, at that rate they will be £38k by next Christmas.......
