Car shows

Been to 3 car shows this year and they’ve been a total disappointment.
Today at St Albans, took ages to get in at the Oakland College Herts Show to be directed to a half cut field, been more suitable if I rocked up in a Massey-Ferguson tractor. There was two fields of cars and one coffee/burger van catering for the whole event, the hot water tank had packed in so couldn’t get a tea or coffee.
Total waste of time all three this year.

Hard luck! see my thread Dorset blind association car show, you've obviously been to the wrong ones!

Supercar Fest today was a whopping £40 per ticket for a one day pass, and was packed! I had some comp tickets thankfully, courtesy of Prestige Autoworks where my Trofeo car was displayed

I went to see the mighty Nottingham Forest beat Arsenal yesterday at the world famous City Ground to retain their Premier League status for another season and hand the title to Man City yet again, all for the bargain price of £32 - now that is true value for money

Each to their own of course and Supercar Fest was thoroughly enjoyable with some amazing cars on show but everything is getting super expensive now.

To be fair the ones I’ve been to have not been expensive to get into but I picked the wrong ones so far. Last year I went to some great shows but these three I’ve been to so far this year have been not my cup of tea (even if I could buy a cup of tea)
As an Arsenal fan I was glad Nottingham Forest beat my team as it meant Premiership survival, they’re a team I remember fondly from back in my younger day’s with Cloughy. Obviously if Arsenal still had a realistic chance of winning the title my loyalties would’ve been with them. Good on Forest also for keeping the ticket prices low.

It was quite a show wasn't it. I came away thinking I need to make more money!
I gather his car collection runs towards £100 million although that GTO is close to half of that.
Not a bad house and outbuilding collection either and despite the comprehensive garaging nowhere near adequate. Ten tenths is run from a non descript set of buildings "somewhere" in the same vague area I think.

Yes, Nick has a storage warehouse about 10 miles south where the most of the collection is kept. Don’t ask how much the temp and humidity control units cost!

Going to Wheels & Wings on 1st July at Middle Wallop. Not been before but it seems a fair mix of classics through to supercars - and some old planes!

I took the trip over on Sunday before heading back home.

It was interesting to see a car collection from someone that doesn't need to sell a car to finance the next one. Does he call Ferrari when they have a new car coming out or do they call him to ask if he wants one?

Here are a couple of my pictures of cars that aren't usually seen.

I went to the Kildrummy Vintage Rally today, which I would recommend for those complaining about high entry fees. Free parking and free entry. A somewhat eclectic mix of motors, albeit no Maseratis. Ruined castles and great scenery thrown in as well. A bit of a long haul for most though!347E103A-0909-4F56-96AA-A130AE19189E.jpegCB19D672-C7B5-4A85-B12A-5BAC9E2A1B31.jpeg163276E0-404B-4388-BB37-E7A17269D876.jpegE560904F-B2ED-4D68-A2D7-688126D264EA.jpeg17E4C64E-5E3D-4FB3-993B-26E6ECE42F16.jpeg

Anyone attending 'Rotary Cars in the Park' Beacon Park, Lichfield, Staffordshire this coming weekend?:

Never been but it looks a really good 2-dayer, if anyone's twiddling their thumbs this weekend?
