Personally I think you’re gonna see an entire reset of the buying a car system. PCP etc

oh where to start. all income earners have borrowed too much.... everyone is overstretched hence what’s happening. Companies borrowed to buyback stock, billions and billions! Were they low earners?

printing money in the quantities required to keep things afloat will cause hyper inflation- Zimbabwe?

your house is about to crash by 50% or more. It’s been in a bubble with its price linked to fake prosperity, debt will default everywhere.
Your house profits are fecked.
Everyone??

We buy any car don't want to buy any cars

A guy put his 2017 ecoboost mustang details in a month ago £18,700
Today £12,500
These are "we don"t want it" prices

Thankfully my WBAC payment from sunday cleared today

Just checked my M140i for a laugh on WBAC.
It's been valued at £16k constantly for well over a year, just turned 3 years old, last valued a month ago.
Today, £9,700.
Don't think I will be changing it any time soon then!
Which means no px for a new car/nearly new car.
Which means the car dealers are fuuked!

Your idea of cheaply might be slightly different to most of the public Ewan
For instance my idea of cheap transport was £950 for this

Tidy, gutted I paid £1795 for my golf, incidentally, while I was driving last week the odo went
123456 miles. Tbf I was waiting for it....I would say I should get out more.....but, in the present climate.....

Must add on the received emailed valuation:
“Unfortunately, due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic the automotive market is being affected. As such our current pricing may not be in line with your expectations“

Also how can they cope with all those cars on PCP with future guaranteed values greater than the cars worth?
Okay owners voluntary terminating, or just handing them back, but I guess they have to honour the guaranteed value when taking out a new deal. Or do they simply decline to do a new deal?

It is indeed going to get messy out there! I wouldn't want to be any car group holding loads of expensive stock at the moment.
They still aren’t dropping the prices dean. It’s mental. Surely some should be following up on leads and offering deals.

No still got it, it was my wife's B Class, she only drove it to her mums and back twice a week so it's gone , it was a cat C and I couldn't be arsed trying to sell it , they offered me £500 less than ford offered me in PX against the mustang 2 years ago though I'd think that value would've dropped considerably in the last few days

Agreed. If it were my stock I'd be beating doors down to get as much sold as possible as quick as possible.

Maybe they think it will all blow over and come good again. One the biggest groups were sitting on £2bn of stock I understood. Bought, paid for and owned outright. Not a stocking loan in site!

I think I would rather take that £2bn and hoover up some cheap equities and sit on it for 1-3 years.

Probably the cheapest this'll ever be to run with fuel prices dropping

700bhp V12 twin turbo , I'm thinking he might have it for a while though

£20,000 buys a lot at the moment and with fuel falling in price rapidly very tempting.
Just not knowing what's around the corner is the worry mate.
All the doom and gloom is definitely going to lead to more suicides , from my understanding of it

Most people will get a really bad cold
Some will feel really ill
Some will die if they don't get ventilation
Some will die no matter what

I haven't seen any evidence of mass deaths amongst healthy people under 70

I'm 59, overweight and slightly asthmatic so I'm doing all I can to protect myself but I'm not going to start worrying about it.

Nah that will get cheaper for sure. I'd be very surprised if this doesn't hit 10k soon.

The only protection is if people decide to keep not sell and the status quo is maintained for a while. I would expect most to stick as they are but the trade and manfuacturers are all sitting on stocks.

If new prices start being discounted heavier it knocks everything down all the way down the chain.

That £69k red centennial Strad I liked might be £60k and less soon!

Ten coffee stamps and you get a free Merc? I remember when they came out, neighbour got an early one, the waiting lists were epic. Now they are about to stop making them as no one is interested.

Agree car sales is not a place to be at the moment, Ive gone from having to much work and making most of it and looking at a new car to no work in 48 hours and sector crash. Thankfully no money in shares but looking at strategy as to what to buy on the downturn for the slow rise, it won't be automotive lol.

Car sales might be the place to be if you are just setting up!
