Such was the look of surpise indeed horror on most faces at my surprise appearance at Ace........it caught a few people on the hop!

Outlining my circuitious route to the Ace cafe sans Maserati and saying I was going back by train from Victoria to Horley, Peter ( Urbanmaser) very kindly offered to give a me a lift in completely the opposite direction to where he needed to go.

The curtain came down on the meet about 9pm and off we set in Peters 2007 Gransport. Firstly, its magnificent to look at, cossetted in every way and even better, fabulous to be a passenger in. It wants for nothing and has only done 16K miles in its 6 years, is there a nicer GS out there?

I only really get to drive my own 62K miles 4200 and the differences were very obvious, the car felt much tighter, with standard exhausts sounded so much more refined, suspension very good too.

We set off, negotiating endless sets of lights til we came upon a few sections of English urban "autobahn", without warning ( I need at least 5 whole seconds)....Peter floored it...not fully...but full enough, we urged forward, zipping past the common man in his common car....street lighting became a blur, gravity was defied, blood drained from the front of my body..........Goooooooodddddddddddd..........was it fun!

This happened a number of times.....Peter relishing each time we took off..........utterly divine!

After dropping me like a hot potato near Victoria ( ie didn't want to get spotted by the traffic division and acrue more points) he sped off into the darkness.......:)

So....conclusion being..........Peter Urbanmaser is no more..........................................arise Sir Speedalot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

P

PS In a Huhne like moment of weakness I stupidly offered to take 9 of Peters points if those flashing traffic cameras are anything to go by!!!!

Urbys car doesn't get used much so it was probably a sticking throttle, in which case he was as much a passenger as you were! :D

Dem, he's probably swapped his MPH speedo for a KPH speedo so 41 in a 40 is 25 in a 40! Long live General(ly) Slow. :D

First of all you are very welcome Frank. It is plain to see that you are a man of great culture and refinement and I thank you for all those kind words which could have only come from a man of high education and appreciation of the finer things in life. On the other hand I will not rise to the cheap insults paid to me by my bastttttttard son and his partner in crime Benny, but for their information I hit 43mph in a 40mph speed limit (allegedly)..........am I going to admit to any more than that on a public forum? If Benny were to strive to become just half as cultured as my friend Frank it would be a step in the right direction. As for that good for nothing son of mine Dem, the less said the better :tomato9: On a finishing note what a great evening it was except for the Ace Cafe veggie burger which was an experience I would rather forget.

PS Hope you are well Benny and I really do love ya even though you lack Frank's breeding

I'm doing ok thanks Pete and I'm all the better for knowing you are still out there slowing down traffic! Also, given the fact that the only culture most 'savvaners' know is usually seen growing in backstreet-garage coffee cups, I'll stay as I am! :saifi5:

I can't do that Frank. As much as he is a disappointment to me, I still feel a moral obligation to him, and as such, he is first in line to inherit my overdraft :tomato9:
