Can anyone recommend a good leather treatment?

I have decided to attend to the scuffed driver's seat bolster as my eyes are drawn to to every time I open the door and it's starting to bug me.

There are loads of products out there but has anyone actually used any of these treatments and been impressed with the results?

The photo makes it look much worse than it actually is somehow, but you get the idea.

Gliptone everyday, has done wonders to my interior. I have used both the colour treatment as well and leather feed and clean and all have been first class and a perfect match.

Leather needs feeding as it is good quality and actually breathes. I compared my car to Ian's 3200 at the weekend and his seats are in immaculate condition whereas mine are shiny, cracked and just not 100%. I reckon I need to wash the seats first and then treat them to some glipton or other leather moisturiser and leave it to soak in for a good few hours.

I could really do with taking it to be properly done but I guess it is a DIY job....

Agree.

They are out over Todmorden, not a million miles from you.
I wanted a kit as preventative maintenance so I drop off the rear centre armrest to him, which he colour matched.
He can't do it as you wait unfortunately so popped back over a few days later, or you can post him a colour sample which he will return with the kit.

Parisien - The dynamix site just shows cream, dark blue and light tan, none of which are a match for mine.

Almichie - Re the Gliptone, if my seat was a black leather, which is much more forgiving, I would have no hesitation in lashing it all over my seat as I have seen it used very successfully in the past. The fact that it is such a light shade fills me with fear and trepidation if I were to get a slight mismatch and make it look worse than it already does.

Treated properly they are soft and supple, not shiny at all and certainly not hard and cracked. Liquid leather by Gliptone is wonderful, it really does do the job.

To be honest I am really impressed how the leather has stood up, as Italian cars of this age and mileage are not renowned for the longevity of their leather trim items.

It is just the bolster that has obviously seen plenty action.

Sounds like I should take a trip to Todmorden.

You are quite right, but you send a sample to them which they match. I have a blue interior and a colour mismatch would show here too. They send a small black die to darken the colour if required (not so in my case) as well as another additive which makes the die shiney to suit the worn leather perfectly that you are treating so it blends with the surrounding area.

I can only tell you my experience which was better than expected. I use their leather feed and would use anything else now.

They do sell a comprehensive kit that comes with cleaner, feed and colour(s).

That would make sense. I misunderstood the process. Thanks for the input.

You are most welcome! If you were closer I would suggest you come over to see for your self; I have few me nicks that need touching in.
