Haha, yes fair point but to be honest: I do.
At the end the replica covers cost a fortune as well. Then better have it as close to original imo. Ofcourse if it’s for MOT purpose then everything to pass is welcome.
I known Classiche department was struggling with a glas mould and they had to replace Carello with the name MAserati as Carello has been acquired so name couldn’t be used anymore. Not sure who makes these replicas.
The Polycarb replicas have a blue-ish tinge to them compared to my aged passenger light. If anything the polycarbonate replicas (with CARELLO, I'm also wearing an anorak) are an improvement over the original glass originals as these were forever cracking because of the closeness of their fit with the bonnet. This is partly why replacements are so rare. I bit the bullet and bought a set, they're beautifully made.
When my current tyres on the 16" Miglia wheels need replacing, I'll get my GT spoked wheel set powder-coated, pop some of my replica wheel centre caps in, and fit my replica headlights. I'm sure she'll look splendid.
