For anyone interested, I have booked a 12.30 slot at POP Icons and Legends on May 22nd.
Hope to see some more Maserati's
POP! Icons & Legends - 22nd/23rd May (helmtickets.com)

Nope - I'm f#cked if I am going to pay £10 to park in a sh!tty car park for a few hours and still have to pay £3 for a cup of coffee.

I went quite a few times when it first opened and despite long queues for coffee, it was quite a nice place to meet (and free to park)......and then they started to charge. Now it is being run to empty the pockets of petrol heads IMO and I will never be going back.

If it helps, i believe the entry fee includes a drink.
I agree its abit cheeky, and not something you would want to do every day, but as a space to see car's, and meet people, i dont think its that bad. If you went to a car show you would have to pay an entrance fee.

It's the timeslots and lack of guarantee of any decent cars being there that I have a problem with..... especially as it is owners bringing their cars that attracts others.

A lot of events I go to are free or properly organised I would but with that I get the guarantee of decent cars being there and am not a captive audience.

If I draw parallels with the last event I took my GT to (WOW) it was £3 for the car, huge open space and a good number of vendors.

Yes, I see your point. Not defending them, but believe the time slots are Covid measures put in place to protect people. However, pre Covid was so long ago, i cant remember. Definitely just turned up once, and didnt need to pay, but the next time i couldnt get in, so maybe that is part of it also
Im going because its a good drive up there, and also i know atleast 2 people going, so using it as abit of a social.

Not just post Covid. As mentioned above, I used to drop in on a regular basis (bikes and cars) and then all of a sudden they told me I had to pay to park (but that I got a free coffee).

I told them to go away nicely and have never been back .... and nor will I go back. There are plenty of other places to gibe my money to.

Got my first breakfast meet this Sunday https://www.re-fuel.co.uk/, price before this lockdown was £5.00, now £7.50, except its not as they are using eventbrite to sell tickets and there is a £1.16 'booking fee' so tickets are £8.66 in my book, Haynes breakfast club used to be free, now £5.00, unfortunately its the way of the world now.

I'm sure that we can turn up at a 'random car park' such as Newlands Corner or Box Hill and have a coffee or full breakfast without having to pay for parking.
@Dman666 does have some mean omelette's .

Also, I recently found out that an old army air corps colleague runs a pub in Weymouth. He's also a Maserati owner too.

Always welcome now that things are getting more relaxed

It is a funny one sometimes as without owners of cars people want to see and talk about there is no event and no attraction.

Also Sunak is telling us there is no inflation out there. Not sure what planet he is living on but it clearly isn't this one. There are plenty of evidences of double digit and higher inflation levels.

Auto Italia and many other mags over the years have relied on punters rolling up FOC with there motor's on a promise of a couple of pics in the next issue for there income!
