Debating a GS or a DB9 next year...Miles on DB9's seem to be low so my hopes of doing a few Euro trips should not blow the re-sale. GS 's seem a little more leggy...however if a GT comes up at 35k then I will stick with the mark...not much hope of that though!

Personally I don't have kids and rarely have passengers so not fussed about rear space. :)

Have you driven one Ghosty.............I drove an early one it left me a little cold....Felt as if it should have been faster than it was....A real beauty though..Now the V12 is what you want...

Don't care, I'm buying it so I can sit in the car park at home in a comfy chair and look at it :D

Since we all get the itch occasionally to change cars, I'd be interested to know where the current 3200 and 4200 owners intend to go next. Are you waiting for a sub-40K GT?

Cheers,

Pat

Unfortunately for me it is going to be a cheverolet caprice, got no choice in the matter and would never consider a maserati as a second car as they are lunatic drivers in Riyadh:laughing:

had one of those in saudi, 3 point something, V6, drove it like a mad arab, my mate wouldn't drive to work with me.

couldn't get wiper blades for it, all sorts of warning lights coming on. thought it was a P.O.A.S...( piece of american sh1t ).
but it did accelerate pretty good & handled ok.

Will get a 6.0ltr V8. These things are built by Holden, still want a SUV!

For those of you interested in the Vauxhall VXR here are a few pics of some I don't think you get but can buy in UK if you really want to.

The engine is a straight of the shelf GM part its a Corvette LS2 motor. In the E series it ran 6.0L then 6.2L and now 6.3L not much difference the current one has eletronics to control cylinders, and launch control for the manual. The current 6.3L breaths better at top end and mid range and is known as the LS3. Someone you will know is Tom Walkinshaw who part owns the HSV business. "Holden Special Vehicles" and set the HSV label up. Its Australians favourite Iconic car, all school boys with petrol in their heads adore this car and often keep cars in the family forever. Collectable versions sell for big money.

But basically its a 21 centry muscle car, loads of grunt in BHP terms its about 420Bhp with 500Lbs torque but a bit heavy at 1800kg wet weight. It does battle to put its power down, otherwise it would kill most things on the road. Very tuff, don't break and cheap to run. 4 doors and space are excellent fuel consumption about 26mpg on a run and less around town. 6 speed is an overdrive and cruises at 1500rpm

I wanted to insert description between pic's but don't seem able to work that out right now. The pic's with the 427 registration is actually the W427 which has the Z06 Corvette engine 7L V8 big numbers, big price only 200 made and very collectable in Aus. But not much faster because the torque is so big you can't put it down. However in a rolling start its pretty brutal.

Like the black one...Not a fan of Vauxhal...very boring...but the VXR is an good honest old style muscle car. I had a ride in a Bathurst edition and it was brilliant....Fast a feck. If I had one I would have to change the Vauxhal badge and get some holden badges.....some much cooler.

Well they are not really Vauxhalls guys, they are all GM just like Opel in Germany, in truth they are Holden HSV's they are only badged Vauxhall in the UK because of the parent company GM. But I used to own one simply because I had never owned a real Muscle car. I soon came back though, once I got over the big engine thunder...

Personally they are just not refined enough but they are probably the best performance car for your money out there. Others come close but tend to breakdown or suffer to much lack of R&D upfront that simple things which should not happen just do because of the scale of production and lack of Capital. Like Lotus or TVR, go hard, but simple things just fall off or leak, which just boils down to quality control at the end of the day.

Disagree on Lotus these days OzzieA....Very well built and the 2005 Exige I had never went wrong and nothing fell off.
