Brake pads for 4.7 GranTurismo

Found this on Maserati Life:

This seems to be a common problem for Gran Turismo owners. I have a 2014, and do not like the amount of brake dust the factory pads produce. While nobody seems to know a good source, I knew they had to be a common pad. Once I pulled the pads, it was easy to match them up. I like Hawk pads, in either the HPS (high performance street) or the Performance Ceramic. Both are low dust, with the Ceramic the lowest dust producer. The fronts are Lexus and Mercedes, while the rears are Gen II Viper front pads.

Front: Hawk HB616Z-607 for Ceramic, and HB616F-607 for HPS compound

Rear: Hawk HB194Z-570 for Ceramic, and HB194F-570 for HPS compound

I bought them both from Summit Racing for about $306 delivered.

These pads also fit 2008 Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione and I think Ferrari 599.

BB, you are a genius. Well done. Have you fitted and tried them yet? I'd be interested in whether they are prone to squealing and whether they need warming up or if they play nicely even from cold.

The amount of dust produced from the original pads is pretty amazing. Do the ones you mention also include the pad-wear warning switch / connection?

A pleasure but this comes with no recommendation!

I follow Maseratilife as it often posts in a very different way on these cars - more mods and annoying pictures of 'our' cars in Palm Springs and elsewhere (!) - and this came up. My car is on 27.5k miles and I reckon I've got maybe 7.5-12.5k left on my factory pads but I suspect I will need to do discs and EPB shoes at the same time so it's £3.5k+ for all that if I go OEM which I probably have as I have the years 4 & 5 extended warranty.

It's also worth looking at the FD website as they do alternative discs as well as pads.

PS I know that the FD pads do not have pad wear indicators and it sounds from the post like none of the above do either. I doubt this would be an issue.

Does the GranTurismo pad differ from the previous QP?

I got EBC yellowstuff for my rears, and have them coming for the front. Great from cold, do not squeal but still have a "regular amount" of dust. Suspect thier redstuff may be cleaner.
