Has anybody fitted BOSCH AEROTWIN WINDSCREEN WIPERS to their 4200 please?

And if so, what reference number(s)?

I have them on my Alfa 156 and they work a lot better than the originals.

Many thanks
Tony

Hi Tony
I do have these on my 32. I took the AR 550 S
They are fine the passenger side is just a bit away on about 2 cm at the corner when down but nothing bad. Work perfectly.
If you want to take a look...

Found the aerotwins werent really that great. 3200/4200/GS screens are the same profiles for the sake of argument- and they dont wipe the screen any better than a traditional blade IME. And they look a bit weird to me.
Although I note they significantly reduced shudder - this may be down to pressure against the glass..?

Thank you very much Frog3200, that's very helpful. I've just measured the existing blades , and they are BOTH 550 long, as against 550 and 530 for the pair with the reference AR550S. Searching on Amazon France I found that reference AR550U corresponds to ONE blade 550 long. The current price is 15.50€ (with free Prime delivery in my case.)

I gather that you are French and living in France. Where abouts? (I am a British ex-pat and have lived full time in the Charente for the last 21 years).

Thanks again,
Tony

Thanks for your reply TimR.
I have no problem with the way they look, and if they reduce shudder that's surely a good thing?
However I still have a pair of unused brand new Maserati blades in stock, so based on your comments I'll use those up first.
Thanks again,
Tony

I live quite close to Monthlery, south of Paris.. I put those blades as I was looking for a cheap replacement (and for only 1 or 2 storms a year...). But if you have some spare originals Don t bother indeed.

Small world. We used to live near Paris in the late 70's and early 80's and would go to the Montlery race circuit from time to time.

If they are juddering significantly do you have the anti flutter hooks fitted?

It could be attributed to the fact they flap around in the air gesticulating more than wiping, and this because they dont make contact as well as they might..?

Not sure what an anti-flutter hook is Peter. I have assumed I didnt apply enough sealant to the (new) blades last time I refreshed the glass sealant- an updated advice from Gtechniq based on folk complaining their product caused the problem.

If 32/42/GS they should have a small plastic hook on the arms that slots into the hole on the metal wiper blade part.

They frequently get broken off if you get the car washed by the local Kosovan Car Wash.

They cost £25.00 each!,,

Presumably perhaps, one needs a £100, Maserati wiper blade for that to fit..?
I'll have to look into that. I didnt know they were a thing. And it does bug me that the wipers are a pain, even though they arent needed over 30mph with the sealant doing it's thing...
cheers
