Boot lid problems

My 4200 boot lid is often difficult to shut. Any suggestions as to why that might be?

Depends on the symptoms. I had a problem with mine bouncing on the latch. I used lithium grease on the latch and haven’t had a problem since.

Has the problem just started in this hot weather? If so it might just need some lubrication

If that does not work try adjusting the bump stops if it has them on the boot lid.

When I visited the factory they used a mallet!

Bouncing on the latch is exactly what it is doing. I try some grease on it.

I adjusted the latch, solved the problem

But the wilder of said mallet not only knew that it needed hitting, but precisely where and how hard!
