I'm not familair with this one, MOT history looks fairly good. Check the Wishbones! Interesting why it was presented to the MOT checker with two nails in two tyres, back in 2011! But with only 60,000 miles on the clock it should be fresh for it's age. My old Coupe should be hitting 100,000 by now.

Edit: It this one and it's had a new clutch but it was CAT D due to damage to the boot but all has been rectified by a Shropshire Maserati dealer (who?)

Questions I would ask are who last serviced it, who fitted the clutch and what was the damage. Otherwise it looks clean.

Thanks for your input; it's easy to get focused on the 'good looks' without using your head to analyse the more important aspects.

I remember this one. Spoke to the previous private owner about it over some weeks. I made an offer he didn't accept at the time. As it went on and he hadn't sold it and keen to sell there were various other discussions but no deal done in the end. He traded it in for something else in the end.

I'll dig out the details but there was a biggish CAT D claim at the time but the car seemed decent other than that. The Autolign thing doesn't mean a lot and I wanted to see the damage pics but they never surfaced.

Just looked back and it was this one. Nice guy the seller and didn't know it was a CAT D back then in May. Told me it was CAT clear and I did a basic HPI check to find it was CAT D. Never got the damage pics that alledgedly existed. Hopefully this link will work to the HPOI check I did if that helps.
HPI Check - GX04YUR LINK

I offered £10k at the time and he wanted £12k then dropped to £10.5k in the end but I could pay more than £10k. I still wouldn't pay more than £10k now. However buying from a dealer might be sueful but still at nothing more than £10k IMHO.

I ended up buying a later, nicer facelift car for a little more money.

Great info. Thanks.
You've obviously got your finger on the pulse for these cars, it'll be my first Maserati, if I achieve it. Are there any more 'cast-offs' that would be worth considering. My budget is around the 10k mark. Pm'd you.

I'd agree with that. A nice facelift will often be easier to resell than an earlier Classico as there are less around. I didn't say easy btw....just easier!
