Came across this almost by accident.
There is fitting an outboard motor to a bath tub - which is bonkers, then sitting in a tube with 3 engines at 1000mph with no means of stopping travelling horizontally! This is also bonkers and should only be done by the British.

It was in the news a few days ago when engine runs were carried out in Cornwall, and a full size mock-up has appeared at various events this year. Bloodhound is the successor to Thrust SSC which currently holds the record. More here:

Many of the original SSC team are involved with Richard Noble heading it, and driver Andy Green is no doubt ringing around for insurance quotes for his new wheels.

Looks a bit more dangerous than 40mph in a bathtub on the ocean!!
