Blinking 6th Gear Indicator!

Hi all,

For the past two weeks the 6th gear indicator on the dash starts flashing at times, not very often, but it happens.
It mostly seems to be happening when I am already in 6th, usually on a motorway.

Dropping back into 5th, then back into 6th seems to clear it. Driving performance/gear changing,
does not seem to be affected, but it's not flashing for no reason (flashing=about every second or so).

Any thoughts?

It happens when its not properly engaging.......not sure if a slipping clutch/worn will also do same, when are you due clutch change?
