Just wanted to say a big thanks to Phil for taking the time last night to explain the car and show me how to drive it, top bloke. Its took a little getting used to at first, but the long drive back last night and then some playtime with her this morning and im starting to get my head around it
She prefers fast to slow, that would be my first observation(!) Had the ASR kick in the once so far when i was being a touch playful on a country lane earlier, but otherwise its all cool, thanks god its dry for a couple days for me to practice
I originally had my heart set on a 3200 auto, but this came up (I was drunk at the time - but no regrets the next morning, which is unusual!) and seemed a good opportunity to see if I could get along with F1 or not - I hate the idea of wasting peoples time test driving their cars if theres a fair chance I wont like it, so it seemed easier just to buy one and see for myself. And so far so good, if I get along with it then most likely next year Ill get a later one or maybe a GS or something, we'll see how it goes..
Now going to be without her till early next week as shes off for a little paint at a mates please, waited a while to get one anyway so a few days or so shouldnt hurt too much. Ill then have her up on the ramp next weekend with a friendly specialist mechanic so the gaiter can be sorted and a bit of a general service (I know she doesnt really need it yet but Im anal like that! - getting everything done, oil, filters, sparks the lot)
Gonna be a whole different world this, compared to the German cars Im used to, should be fun!
Thanks
Si
