That R8 is a Cat B but why? It looks like theres nothing wrong with it and the disclaimer says that it can be put in gear and moved under its own power.

what could possibly be wrong with it that would mean its unfit to go back on the road?

Long story Ghostydog, and one which has had my utmost attention these past weeks , as you can imagine , very cheap car ,one owner from new who was Micah Richards yes the Man city player, previous reg M16AHR , all history checks out with Audi main dealers , what he did was have it lowered by a reputable company(not Audi connected ) who one way or another screwed up , resulting with the car bottoming out, eventually bending and splitting the space frame chassis on the nearside frot quarter, Audi who did the engineers report wanted the car removed from the road and seeing as Micahs insurance company were retrieving their costs from the lowering company's insurance were happy to oblige , tho it really should be a cat C which is what i would have appealed for had i been lucky enough to purchase it , absolutely no reason why another leg /strut cant be purchased and welded to specification back into place , but we had the official reply today that Copart are instructed to dismantle the car before collection

thats it really so for the sake of £2500 worth of alluminium leg/strut brace the whole car id being broke for bits criminal and not very enviromently friendly in my book , would look much better sitting on my drive ,the M16AHR plate is now on his AM

That just seems sooooo wasteful, I do like the R8, when BigFoot was in Japan he got a Japanese brochure and DVD in Hardback as they were trying to sell him one, he didn't want it so posted it over for me, it's now in my bookcase along with all the Car Design Yearbooks and other car tat I've got :D

I went and sat in one at Huddersfield Audi, it's such a nice place to be :) I've had a couple of Audis before albeit mundane versions and I do like them a lot.

Really Love the R8....interesting story, only negative that sticks in my mind was the boot space..tiny, barely room for a bag to go the gym!

Loz

I see your perspective, it's just for that when you want to do that Euro drive, or even a weekend away - you need to send your bags ahead....

Andrea, surely a woman going to the gym would have 2 bags...............1 to carry a token towel in case of an unexpected outbreak of perspiration. and the other .....carefully chosen from the collection to suit what she is wearing that day.
or am I just being too cynical.......after all why shouldn't one room of the house be given over to the shoe & bag collection.

Guys - just being practical - i hear all day long ferrari guys after luggage to fit the miniscule boot space, it's just one thing i noted when i sat in one of these beauties, don't get me wrong i'd have one on the drive tomorrow, love them... - i would organise the luggage sent ahead. (but i hear they do turnover a few owners for this reason...)

As for the room for bags and shoes - well now you're talking, but i suspect this could be another post (when you are all bored!) lol

The water damage one sounds interesting Loz....These can be someof the best finds as you know. Never a fan of the R8 when it came out but everytime I see one on the road it turns my head...Lovely car even if you can not get your makeup bag in it.

to me the R8 is one of those cars that is dynamically brilliant but would never look at one and buy it, you probably have to drive it to realise how good it really is, although this one i saw earlier in the year was nice, can you guess why?
