Battery Drain - New Battery

Thinking of getting a new battery for my 3200GT just wondered what were peoples experiences and looking for a recommendation for a replacement.

Also even when I use the battery isolation wheel, the car still seems to use battery life up. Mine will go flat in a few days if I don't use my CTEK "conditioner". So I'm thinking of getting a battery condition bluetooth device to monitor battery use. I'd like to find out what drains down my battery. My car was fitted with a tracker which I don't see the point of. So I'm going to remove that as I guess it is wired direct to the battery.

Cheers

Get a battery for a 4200 and you will be fine.
Removing the Tracker will be the best thing you can do and for sure causing your drain.

Tracker will be the issue if it’s still wired. Also does your alarm siren work? That may be directly wired and the siren itself has an internal battery that can cause a drain when it gets old, usually the siren won’t work when the battery goes.

Oh interesting... I've never heard the siren go off where is this located? I'm certain that the siren should have gone off at some point... :)

Its behind the side panel in the rear left of the car if its the same location as a 4200.

You can test if its the alarm causing the battery drain by pulling the fuse. It will mean you have to lock your car with the key for a few days but will prove its the alarm siren or tracker causing the drain.

Its fuse 31 iirc on a 4200 in the passenger footwell.

I think it’s left hand side of the boot (inner wing) behind the liner.
PS if as Kenny says it’s fused then I don’t think the alarm will be directly wired to the battery and the cut off should cut it.

You can see it through the left hand side of the boot liner where the cd changer would be if its fitted. Fairly sure you couldnt take it out to without removing the rear side panel and seats.

Its not wired direct to the battery as you say. So the alarm would usually chirp at least when you turn the isolator back on.

So I'm thinking of getting a battery condition bluetooth device to monitor battery use.

FWIW I bought this one a few months ago for my Spyder:

My mileage is low. I have a good newish battery and I have a CTEK but can’t use it permanently as I park in the street. The monitor has been a game changer for me as it means I can take action well before the battery goes flat. It’s reliable as well and the app is pretty good and very quick and simple to check the level as well as some history (low and high revs charging voltage, cranking voltage etc.)

That's the one I ordered :)

Fitted the monitor, and you can see something is draining down the battery a couple times over a 48 hour period. Now I've started the hunt for the tracker, its not in the boot rear rear LHS near the Siren. I cant see it above the fuel tank. I guess it must the dash location...

Someone will be better informed, but am sure I read somewhere that they are often under the rear parcel shelf.
