That is a much more reasonably priced Cat car than the barn find that is another thread, you would have to have all the necessary checks done but does look an interesting way in Maser ownership

It could be a great donor for the track car we want to build. Suspect of Cat C for a Turbo failure though

Could have had water sucked into it, that drivers seat looks a bit mis shaped for 43,000 miles

Funny, I was thinking the same thing.......that said, if in the hunt for a weekend summer thrill car then might be worth a look and inspection at that price. Even having to spend 5 or 6 k to get it "just right" could be worth it.

If it has been flood damaged that could explain why it was off the road for so long, I can't see how you could make an insurance claim for a blown turbo unless you hit something and it got damaged

I have heard that blown engines can be claimed for if you hit debris on the road and lose the oil

Saw this the other day... If I had the space I'd be sorely tempted just to get it for spare parts!

The hydro-locked engines on these have caused many a write off - is there such a thing as a bargain? I don't know but it sounds like some of you are tempted!

Since when does a mechanical failure such as a turbo result in an insurance write off?
I think that only applies if the car is flooded with water.

I doubt an exploding engine would be paid out for by the insurance unless a brick fell off the back of a skip wagon and took it out

I'll have the wheels and tyres - which look better than mine, ac condenser, centre diff bearing and the interior passenger seat as mine wont tilt anymore.
