He's had 2 Cups Adam.....The first one was a dark blue colour and had the 2.8 engine....Maserati bought out a very limited amount of 2.8 cars in Cup trim at the beginning.........Not sure how many numbers but not many...........It was a pre 2l car then he changed it to a 2l almost straight away....

Must not have been on sale for long either. It is funny looking back in the old evo issues from 98 and 99 seeing Meridien's advert, Ghibli Cup's at 38K and Assetto Corsa's up for 40k.

yeah- that's funny; the depreceation I mean; I think I said already- in the end; everything becomes affordable...

Yeah, I think Harry Metcalfe mentions somewhere (in the buyers guide from 2000? I think) the distinction in driveabilty between the 2.8 and 2.0 Cups...

The gist being that the 2.8 offers a more rewarding conventional-speeds driving experience (had a run in Pibbows wonderfully tight GT recently, which has noticeably far more low down torque) where as the Cup is more about high reving top-end ability.

Scientifically speaking; Nm vs bhp...

The 2.8/GTs an easier more rewarding drive I think.

Cup does have other advantages though- my 730mile round trip last weekend only cost me about £200 in fuel!!
