Not wanting to politicise this but a socialist gov would have sorted this I'm reasonably sure, not Corbynising, any one...

Gov loans at 'competitive rates' for those in need, Jesus....

We have just been put on a 3 day week, well 2 days one week and 3 the next. All our construction sites are being monitored daily, surveyors (cost control) can work from home as can most of the document controllers. Site Project Managers and Construction Managers are now “working from home” as much as possible - how this works I have no idea, we shall see.
As for military on the streets, that would not surprise me, we do however in this country have strict controls on this. The Police have absolute authority on security, any military intervention is controlled by them, Military Aid to Civilian Authority’s . Troop movements on public roads not uncommon - ask anyone who lives near a Garrison Town (Aldershot, Catterick, Colchester, Tidworth to name a few) the Blues and Royals exercise their horses in Hyde Park daily - we are not about to become a Military State overnight!

stay safe everyone - think about what your doing/going and keep that great British Stiff Upper Lip!

We are being told that my wife and I need to go to work and our child has to go to any school that will take her. Just gets more bizarre. Just emailed the head teacher...

Just speaking to a friend who is a teacher, the first they’ve heard of the “closing on Friday and only looking after the children of critical workers from Monday” was when Boris announced it.

Saw a vid of a shiitload of mega army kit on the move on M62 - Facebook....

Not just jeeps or land rovers, proper long articulated mega-tyred stuff....
Went past a number of army vehicles on the M6 this afternoon ( which could be a coincidence) heading down to Preston from Cumbria while I was deliverying food supplies to my lad in Manchester because all the supermarkets seem to be out of pretty much everything !!. A 3hr roundtrip for me because the Supermarkets seem to be completely incapable of sorting out their distribution networks despite the warehouses being stacked to the ceilings with supplies. They seem to have no surge capacity which in the 21st century is frankly nuts.

Supermarkets do have a supply chain that can cope with huge uplifts, they do it every year for Easter, Xmas etc. What they can’t cope with is Tracey reading on Facebook that food is running out and her rushing off and hoarding... and consistently now playing catch up. that’ll be one of the reason 24 hour stores have changed their opening hours.

It makes some sense. I'm a Governor of a tiny village primary school (with under 100 pupils). If we have 5 pupils next week, we will probably send them to the nearby town. If we have 50, we will look after them.
