After my recent accident I ended up having the bonnet and wings painted so that it matches the new bumper which was replaced in the accident. Initially it was :shy1:

However, I have noticed that there are lots of fine scratches already all over the painted area:crying: I have only washed the car twice since it was painted and on both occassions been careful(more so than with previous cars!)

Surely this can't be normal..?

Black cars do mark very easily especially the plastic painted parts in my experiance.

What also might have happened is that the 2 pack paint has not gone off due to the cold weather, hence why it's marking.

Hard to believe the paint shop would not have baked it under lamps given the cold weather there at the moment. As mentioned black is vey susceptible to showing marring and it is possible the scratches you are seeing are from when it was painted and buffed. The paint shop will have used a final glaze of some kind which may be heavy in fillers. The fillers eventually wash out...

Best suggestion is to take it to a detailer for correction

I think RHC has hit the nail on the head...seek another opinion first if you want before going back to them

It sounds to me as though the top laquer coat has not been done well enough, or not at all. Paint should not be getting scratched so early on..??

Cars at the garage being serviced so I will see what they say before going back to the garage who painted.
