Morning all
Last night the 'check engine' error message appeared. I've checked the oil etc , all seem to be ok, and reading up on heee and MaseratiLofe it looks like it's not that unusual. However does anyone have a reader near Chester who could plug me in and reassure me I'm not about to blow up the engine or something daft. She's due a service in another 2 months or 7k miles if that might have any bearing on the matter.

Get a cheap Bluetooth reader from Amazon and Torque for your phone (if you use Android)

Cost buttons and will give you a good guess as to what the code is

I'm looking at them now. Seems like it may be a good investment

I used mine quite a lot when I was having random CELs both on the 4200 and the GT

Should put your mind at rest, or not. If it's showing misfires though, you *probably* don't want to drive *too* much as you're putting fuel into the catalysts. Apparently.

Excellent thanks all. It has cleared itself.... I wiggled the fuel filler cap etc Don't know if it was that that made the difference or just the usual electric Maserati Gremlins that like to liven up ownership. OBD reader ordered..

Yes, the fuel cap will throw a CEL due to emissions regs.
